As a young boy, before the age of 10, when people asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, I would say, “A scientist.” At the time, I felt that this career path reflected my fascination with technology and my desire to bring joy and happiness to people's lives. I felt that way until my family friend Jeff told me he was a set grip at Warner Brothers. He invited me to come work with him one day. I remember it clearly—visiting the “Luis Guzmán” show on the WB lot. Immediately, I became enamored with a new world I never really knew existed. My visit made me realize that being on “set life” was where I truly belonged. It’s a collective of creative artisans all focused on achieving a common goal: to create some of the most visually immersive entertainment, side by side with their own specialties. This ignited a fire inside me to want to join this group of artisans.
